While we typically deal with air Cooled VW, we do occasionally run into work on "other" modes of transportation! Those "modes" are of the "older" vehicles. By that we mean, 1986 and earlier. cars and trucks. This does not mean we have stopped doing air cooled VW, just expanded our "spheres of influence"! Our favorite vehicles are those without catalytic converters (since they are don't do anything other than curb fuel economy and spew out sulfur dioxide causing acid rain), minimal electronic ignition, and very minimal emission controls (PCV valve only). This allows us the "freedom" to boost the horsepower and fuel economy by any means we see fit. Not to mention, Dave feels that electronics don't belong in the automotive environment due to the excessive heat and cooling that occurs. Does this make us "non-conformists"? YOU BET YOUR BOOTS, PARTNER! Over the years, we have seen improvements in engine design and mild improvement in performance, but current idiotic laws prevent TRUE improvement and stymie the innovation. We are therefore, subjugated to improve older vehicles with newer technology that ACTUALLY improves fuel economy way beyond any current or proposed CAFE standards. Please remember that not all lawmakers are wise or get the CORRECT information. They only get WELL paid for information which is usually quite bad information and totally wrong. The bulk of regulations dealing with emissions standards is actually based off of faulty science and environmentalist agendas, which are the same thing when you come right down to it. Well that's enough of my tirade in that subject (as i can really get going into further depth for my reasoning later, it is called over 40 years of experience in the automotive and mechanical industries.) 1964-1967 Jeep Wagoneer/J Series
